Friday Favourites - YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation Review

Happy Friday! only the best day of the week.. I thought i'd do a little review on the YSL Touch Éclat Foundation. - now this product is a complete cult in the beauty blogging industry, I've always loved the YSL's pen highlighter version and I spotted this on the plane coming back from Greece last year, so I had to have it, try it and hopefully love it. - That I do.

The packaging first of all really is gorgeous, its so slick and sophisticated, with its gold rimmed applicator - this is the typical YSL statement, most of its products have the gold touch to them which makes them stand out. - just be wary of the pump, its pretty stiff and if you're not careful you might end up pumping out a little too much and then you're stuck.

I always swap around my foundations, merely because my skin is forever changing in tone and condition.. one day its oily the next i'm covered in dry patches! So dependant on my skin, this foundation usually tends to work well. I don't however wear it all the time, during the day you'll either find me with no make-up on, or a basic tinted moisturiser (laura mercier, for example) but in the evenings if I'm heading out I like to feel as though i'm covered more.. this foundation does just that!

The shade I have is B50, now my usual colour is an NC30 in MAC, and I find from first look that this foundation looks pretty grey, having said that.. once applied with the right brush its blends into my skin tone perfectly (I tend to use the real techniques buffing brush)

not only does this foundation make your skin look flawless, it also has a dewy texture making your face look more natural and glowing. At first touch on my hand the product feels pretty creamy and heavy, however once applied to my face and left for a couple of minutes, it almost feels as if you don't have anything on. The coverage I would say is light-medium, dependant on how much you apply, I don't like plastering my face with layers and layers of the stuff so its usually pretty light on me, and the lasting power for this little beauty is pretty much all day on my face.

The smell of this foundation is quite strong, its not a horrible smell at all.. infact i'm not sure how to describe it, the smell is pleasant and almost 'healthy' - (picture a healthy smelling foundation, thats doing wonders to your skin.. that'll work.) If you're not into fraganced products or strong scents then this may not be the foundation for you, i'd suggest popping in to your nearest YSL counter and testing the product out.. you could always ask for a small sample, they're usually happy to give you one, test it for a couple of days and see how you feel.

You can purchase this in Boots for £29.00 in lots of different shades, Boots actually currently have an offer on all advantage card members, buy two YSL products (one having to be a Touche Éclat product) and receive 1000 points, any advantage card obsessors would jump for joy at that. (Yeah I'm one of them)

After: (with the added blush and a burnt nose)

have you tried this foundation? how did it work for you.. let me know!
